„Noc z Kopernikiem” jest wspólną inicjatywą trzech sąsiadujących ze sobą instytucji: Archiwum Państwowego w Gdańsku, PAN Biblioteki Gdańskiej oraz I liceum Ogólnokształcącego. Łączy nas postać Mikołaja Kopernika i wspólna historia.
Odwiedzając tzw. „trójkąt naukowy” pomiędzy ulicami Łagiewniki, Wałową i Wały Piastowskie będzie można zajrzeć w niedostępne na co dzień zakamarki historycznych budynków liceum, archiwum oraz poznać historię biblioteki, zmierzyć się zmierzyć się z pismem ręcznym z czasów Kopernika oraz zapoznać się z astronomicznymi odkryciami, po których przewodnikiem będzie sam Mikołaj Kopernik. Przygotowaliśmy też specjalne atrakcje dla najmłodszych.

Oprowadzanie po wystawie „Ślady Mikołaja Kopernika w Archiwum Państwowym w Gdańsku. Pieniądz jest miarą”
Mikołaj Kopernik – człowiek renesansu był nie tylko astronomem, ale też twórcą teorii pieniądza i zasady „Prawa Kopernika-Greshama”. Ponadto był lekarzem i kanonikiem. Na wystawie będzie można zobaczyć oryginalne dokumenty Kopernikańskie w tym „Traktat o monecie” z 1519 roku. Wystawa w podziemiach Archiwum Państwowego w Gdańsku. Wejścia w grupach 15 osobowych, co 15 min.

Zwiedzanie z przewodnikiem historycznego budynku I Liceum Ogólnokształcącego im. Mikołaja Kopernika. Będzie to jedyna okazja w roku, aby zobaczyć oryginalne, ponad 100-letnie wyposażenie szkoły. Zwiedzanie w grupach 15 osobowych, co 30 min.

Uczestnicy będą mogli spróbować swoich sił w pisaniu italiką – rodzajem renesansowego pisma pochylonego, które było używane w czasach Mikołaja Kopernika. Zapraszamy wszystkich chętnych, bez ograniczeń wiekowych, na chwilę wyciszenia i relaksu z kaligrafią.

Dzieci wykonają, przypominające meteoryty, magnesy na lodówkę.
19.00 – 19.45, 20.30 – 21.15, 21.45 – 22.30 Oprowadzanie po wystawie „Wokół Słońca i Księżyca”
Wystawa prezentuje niezwykłe książki, które od kilkuset lat tworzą historię jednego z najważniejszych odkryć w nauce, dziś znanego jako rewolucja kopernikańska. Będzie można zobaczyć „O obrotach sfer niebieskich”, a także teksty i sylwetki takich gigantów nauki jak Klaudiusz Ptolemeusz, Tycho Brahe, Jan Kepler, Galileusz i Izaak Newton.
20.45 – 21.45 Warsztaty plastyczne dla dzieci „Kopernik na co dzień”
Będziemy robić zakładki do książek w kształcie postaci Kopernika, w kształcie planet i statków kosmicznych.
22.00 – 23.30 Warsztaty plastyczne dla dzieci „Kosmiczna przypinka”
Podczas trzeciej części zajęć, uczestnicy wykonają własnoręczne kosmiczne projekty i przypinki z przesłaniem. Będzie to spotkanie z kosmicznym światem, z jego tajemnicami i niezwykłymi zjawiskami.

„Night with Copernicus” is a joint initiative of three neighboring institutions: The State Archives in Gdansk, the National Academy of Sciences (PAN) Library in Gdansk and the High School No I in Gdansk. We are united by the figure of Nicolaus Copernicus and our common history. Visiting the so-called „scientific triangle” between Łagiewniki, Wałowa and Wały Piastowskie streets, you will be able to look into the nooks and crannies of the historical buildings of the high school, archives, and library, which are inaccessible on a daily basis. During your visit you will be able to “confront” handwriting from the time of Copernicus and learn about astronomical discoveries, while being guided by Nicolaus Copernicus himself. We have also prepared special attractions for the youngest.

The program:
7:00PM – 12:00 AM Guided tour of the exhibition „Traces of Nicolaus Copernicus in the State Archives in Gdansk. Money is a measure” Nicolaus Copernicus – As a renaissance man, he was not only an astronomer, but also the creator of the theory of money and the principle of „Copernicus-Gresham’s Law”. In addition, he was a doctor and a secular canon. The exhibition features original Copernican documents including the „Treatise on Coinage” from 1519. The exhibition is located in the basement of the State Archives in Gdansk. Entrance in groups of 15, every 15 min. Location: National Archives, 5 Walowa St. The guided tours at 8:00 and 8:45PM will be held in English.
7:00PM – 12:00AM Secrets of the „One”. Guided tour of the historic building of the Nicholas Copernicus High School No. 1. This will be the only opportunity during the year to see the original, more than 100 years old scientific equipment owned by the school. Tour in groups of 15, every 30 minutes. Location: 1st High School, main entrance (from the side of the Monument to Fallen Shipyard Workers).
7:00PM – 12:00AM Calligraphy workshops „Tracing the Hand of the Astronomer”. Participants will be able to try writing in Italics – a type of Renaissance script that was used in the time of Nicolaus Copernicus. Everyone is welcome (no age restrictions) for a moment of tranquility and relaxation with calligraphy. Location: PAN Library in Gdansk, 15 Walowa St.
7:00PM – 8:30PM Art workshops for children „Magnet”. During the first part of the visual arts workshop, children will make refrigerator magnets resembling meteorites. Location: PAN Gdansk Library, 15 Walowa St.
7:00– 7:45PM, 8:30 – 9:15PM, 9:45 – 10.30PM Guided tour of the exhibition „Around the Sun and the Moon”. The exhibition presents extraordinary books that for several hundred years have made the history as one of the most important discoveries in science, today known as the Copernican Revolution. The exhibit will display „On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres”, as well as texts and profiles of such prominent scientists like Claudius Ptolemy, Tycho Brahe, John Kepler, Galileo Galilei, and Isaac Newton. Location: PAN Library of Gdansk, 15 Walowa Street.
8:45 – 9:45PM Art workshops for children „Copernicus in everyday life”. During the second part of the visual arts workshop, children will make bookmarks depicting Copernicus or bookmarks in the shape of planets and spaceships. Location: PAN Gdansk Library, 15 Walowa St.
10:00 – 11:30PM Art workshops for children „Cosmic pin”. During the last, third part of the visual arts workshop, participants will make cosmic projects with their own, personalized designs and pins with statements of choice. The workshop will be an encounter with the cosmic world, its mysteries and its unusual phenomena. Location: PAN Gdansk Library, 15 Walowa St.
